This section is an overview of the special education process:
- identifying and evaluating a child with disabilities;
- the child’s right
to a free, appropriate, public education in the least restrictive
environment, and the individualized education program that delivers
that education;
- early childhood education;
- due process rights available to parents and child when there is a dispute; and
- school disciplinary issues under IDEA.
