| C. Appointment of a GAL or Counsel |

A
child under
the age of fifteen who is hospitalized for a mental illness must be
appointed a
GAL for the probate proceedings. A
child
over the age of fifteen who objects to hospitalization for a mental
illness
must be appointed an attorney within three business days. The GAL or attorney may
then request that a
judge or jury review the request for hospitalization. A trial on the request must be held within
ten working days of the request.
