J.  Deferred Adjudication

C.R.S. § 19-3-505(5)
The court may also grant a deferred adjudication. This gives parents who have cooperated with services an opportunity to complete their rehabilitation without a D&N adjudication. All parties must consent. The parents must admit to at least one petition allegation. The court sets specific conditions and may transfer or continue temporary custody of the child. A deferred adjudication may be granted for six months, and the court may renew that grant for another six months following a court hearing. After the second six-month period expires, the court must dismiss or sustain the petition.
