C.  Reporting Procedures


C.R.S. § 19-3-307(1)
Reports of child abuse or neglect are to be immediately made to county DHS or local law enforcement, promptly followed by a written report.










C.R.S. § 19-3-307(2)

That report must include the:
  • Child’s name, sex, age, race, and address;
  • Alleged perpetrator’s name and address;
  • Nature and extent of the child’s injuries, including past known or suspected abuse or neglect of the child or siblings;
  • Family composition;
  • Reporter’s name, address, and occupation;
  • Actions reporter has taken;
  • Other helpful information.
C.R.S. § 19-3-307(3) and (4)
This report is admissible in D&N proceedings.  However, it is subject to confidentiality requirements.  DHS gives copies of all reports to the district attorney and to local law enforcement.
