The purposes of the
children’s code are:
- to
ensure the child’s welfare and the interests of society are served;
- to
preserve and strengthen family ties whenever possible;
- to
make timely determinations that will serve the best interests of the
child; and
- to
provide the necessary care, guidance and discipline to assist a child
in becoming a responsible and productive member of
society.
